      Volunteer with SCORE Chapter 390

You Can Make A Difference by  Becoming a SCORE Volunteer

SCORE is seeking men and women to share their business expertise with prospective entrepreneurs and those already in business. Volunteers from all backgrounds, employed or retired, are needed who have:

      • Analytical and problem-solving skills
      • Communications and listening skills
      • Business expertise
      • General management knowledge and experience
      • A positive attitude

We make every effort to match clients with a counselor who is experienced in a compatible line of business.

Meetings with new business clients are held at our Annapolis office, your/their place of business, local restaurants or, increasingly, through email counseling.

You'll enjoy volunteering about two/three days a month. Don't worry - we'll coach you in:

      • Evaluating business prospects
      • Building marketing plans
      • Generating business plans, and
      • Seeking financial assistance when needed

In addition to counselors, SCORE also seeks volunteers with strong organizational skills to work with counselors and clients in outreach programs, marketing, setting up and running workshops and general office support.

You may also want to look over the material on our National SCORE web site to learn more about what SCORE is all about.

For more information on how you, too, can have the satisfaction of being a SCORE mentor, contact us at  info@score390.org. Look over our Code of Ethics to ensure that, as a SCORE member, you would have no conflicts of interest with your current activities; download, fill out and send your SCORE Membership Application to Southern Maryland SCORE, 49 Old Solomons Island Road, Suite 201, Annapolis, MD 21401. Someone from our Membership Committee will contact you to provide more information and to further discuss any questions you may have.
